Solar eclipses typically have an effect starting about three months prior to their actual occurrence so some of the issues discussed here relate to this month’s eclipse may already be already be happening. The first new moon this month is on August 1st and is a solar eclipse at 9*Leo32’ at 5:13 am E.S.T .it is conjunct Mercury, it’s on the ascendant of the chart for Washington DC., and it is square the asteroid Vesta by 8 minutes. Security is a concern on Capitol Hill. With Vesta in a money sign, there may be attempts to curb speculation on the exchange. The country will likely be concerned with word of security threat. The Sun, Mercury, and Pluto connect in declination on the 3rd. Be careful in communications because words can get out of control and have unintended consequences
The Sun opposes Chiron and the node on the 10th. Chiron can open old wounds, and this combination connects to one’s need to be a man. Father may not have provided the close, emotional support that was needed at an early age. The dynamic is likely to be behind current conflicts with men. There is a possibility of true progress now because Chiron enables people to relax their ego’s so that gaps can be bridged. Chiron orbit spans the gap between Saturn and Uranus, so we humans can span the gap between the ego and what lies beyond its boundaries.
Matters that began the week prior to any eclipse generally do not work out. This is because following the eclipse we usually get information that we did not have during the week prior to it’s occurrence. The month’s full moon, a lunar eclipse, at 24* Aquarius 21’, occurs on August 16th at 4:18pm E.S.T., it is closely conjunct Neptune at 22* Aquarius. There is a touch of unreality in the airwaves. Technology has brought us cell phones, iPods, VoIP, and Blackberrys. Look for a new breakthrough in these areas. Mars squares Pluto on the 17th, raising the aggression barometer. There is plenty of energy for tackling tough tasks, but it can be difficult to manifest the positive side of this combination under the square.
On the 23rd Mercury and Venus oppose Uranus. Social dates and appointments are subject to sudden change. Be prepared to alter your schedule. A bit of humor in your communications will get more laughs than usual. Be innovative in presentation. Mercury and Venus square Pluto on the 27th to the 29th. Communications, love, social matters can have unexpected effects. There may be manipulation and jealousy.
Many people have heard of the phrase “once in a blue moon”, referring to a rare and serendipitous occurrence of two full moons in a single month. Far fewer know of the Black Moon. The Black Moon is lucky, but more mysterious. The Black Moon is the second New Moon in a single month. Usually about three to four years will pass between either Black or Blue Moons. The second new moon in August falls on the 30th at 2:58PM E.S.T. at 7*Virgo 48’. This lunation is only four degrees from Saturn at 11* Virgo . This is a time to be exacting and detailed. A skipped step now will mess you up later. There are rewards for this effort because Saturn is trine Jupiter in Capricorn. Venus has just moved into fair-minded Libra. You have a balanced view of the world. The material needed to move forward are equal to your desire and ambition to build. Go with confidence. The fixed star Zosma, hovers near a Virgo stellium involving the Sun, Moon, and Saturn. The message is to rise above melancholy and consider the needs of others. Zosma does not favor the self serving, so help others that are willing to grow.

About Luigi:
I have been practicing and studying the Tai Chi Yang Style, QiGong and Kung fu. Through my practice, I notice more of present-moment awareness with everything I do as well as increased energy levels throughout the day. Recently, Master Yuan of the Wudang Taoist Academy of Internal Arts invited me to study at the academy in China. I trained in the Wudang 5 Animal QiGong with Zi Zheng Yuan where I developed a deeper understanding of the postures and movements.
